Dr. Brown
Dr. Melissa L. Brown was raised in East Smithfield, Pennsylvania and graduated from Athens Area High School. She continued her education in Geneva, New York at Hobart and William Smith Colleges where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. Dr. Brown then received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She completed her education at the Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon where she received her Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Science degree.
Upon graduating from dental school, Dr. Brown was the recipient of the International College of Dentists Leadership Award, the Dr. William S. Kramer Award of Excellence, and she was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) National Honor Society.
While at OHSU, Dr. Brown conducted award‐winning research in preventive dentistry working to formulate a dental material that could minimize the incidence of white spot lesions during orthodontic therapy. Her research has been published in The Angle Orthodontist journal.
Dr. Brown is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the New York State Dental Society. She is excited to be back in her local area joining Dr. A. James Felli at his orthodontic practices in Corning, NY and Mansfield, PA.
Dr. Felli
Dr. James Felli received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Dayton and a Master’s of Arts degree in Geology from Indiana University. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with Honors and a Master’s of Science degree in Orthodontia from the State University of New York (SUNY) School of Dental Medicine at Buffalo in 1976 and 1978, respectively.
Dr. Felli was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the Dental Honor Society, and is Board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, World Federation of Orthodontists and the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics. His commitment to emerging dental and orthodontic education is evidenced by the accumulation of over 1,400 hours of continuing education credit during the past 30 years.
Dr. Felli is past president of the Steuben County Dental Society, Seventh District Orthodontic Society, American Cancer Society of Steuben County and the Corning Rotary Club.
When he’s away from the office, Dr. Felli enjoys exercise, gardening, shooting sports, fishing, boating, skiing, oil painting, horseback riding and playing the piano.
